So when did Tuesday become the new black? Every show in the world that is worth watching is on Tuesdays. And so is Dancey Prancey. And soon, there will be a rule that all sex must take place on Tuesdays and Tuesdays only. And then another rule that states that you are only permitted to have the sex if you watched a prime time television show and were not at a Dancey Prancey class, thereby putting an end to my already nonexistant sex life forever and ever amen. What gives, Tuesday?
So all traces of the plague that hit me last week are gone and I'm happy. This is a new week and while it will be a busy one, I'm looking forward to a week without horking. The simple things, really. And yes, I'm looking forward to intermediate Dancey Prancey. I'm hoping the class is a bit smaller so I can have more time with the Dancey Prancey Boys (heretofore: DPBs). I have a make-up with PB tonight--I'm sure she'll have something to say about the whole thing.
Friday, I got off work a few hours early (for not happy reasons, but I took advantage all the same) and ran to the pet store, Lowe's, and the grocery store. The chick at the pet store was enthralled with the toy I'd picked up for my neice doggie, Sophie, from the clearance rack. It was just three stuffed fabric rings that made a chain. Sophs doesn't dig rope toys really, and she's not into rubber ones that much either, but she really likes to make with the tug o' war and since cat's aren't so into the t.o.w., I like to wrassle with Sophie. Maybe the checker was intrigued cos I was buying it along with catnip and catbox smelly-good stuff. Maybe she thought I had a huge cat. Nah, I told her it was for my friend Amy's dog and that Soph is very gracious about toys given to her. And she liked this one too. She's such a cutie doggie! (Seriously. Check her out. She's got so much damn personality, it's scary!)
And now it's time for a super-duper shout out! Jennifer Dangergirl over at DeLush, you are my supa-stah!! First off, do y'all gals read DeLush? Cos if you don't, you should. These brilliant girls test out products and give us the low-down dirt on how they work. They've saved me many a dollar (and probably caused me to spend many, many more). And while I love her for being her DeLush self, the reason I am hereby declaring Jennifer my supa-stah is because of her suggestion for my jewelry storage in this entry. She even told me where to find it in the store (in the closet organisation section), which is a good thing cos I'd have been screwed otherwise! Anyhoo, it's the Magus Jewelry Organizer at Lowe's. I want to link it, but Lowe's is region-specific so linking won't work--it will ask you for your zip code. Just put in "Magus Jewelry Organizer" in the search box at the Lowe's site. For about $10, you'll get a cool hangy doodah (complete with strong hanger) with 80 different pockets for your jewlery! I bought two of them and have plenty of wiggle room to grow my collection of stuff. I also bought two over-the-door hooks so I could put them on the back of my loo door, since I put my jewelry on in the bathroom. Yay! I'm thinking of getting one more for rings--I have a lot of rings. Thanks Jennifer!
At the grocery store, I stocked the hell up. $115 on groceries. That will last me a good 2 months probably (except for coffee and fruit). I needed a trip like that. I didn't even really spend that much for all the stuff I got, I don't think, but I'm well stocked for a while. And shopping on a Friday afternoon is the way to go at HEB. The aisles were all stocked and there wasn't a big ration of people there fighting to get to the flavoured creamers. So I'ma do weekday shopping from now on, I think.
Saturday, I helped Da Ville break in her new apartment with a housewarming party. It was a totally weirdo mix of people but was good for some excellent quotes and chatting. I was overwhelmed at first (note to self: take crazy meds before going to parties) at all the people coming at me at once and had to take a breather in the bedroom before going out there. I haven't had that happen in a long time--a weirdo sensory overload all at once. They have the potential to develop into full blown panic attacks sometimes so I might have been a bit brusk to people as I beelined for the bedroom to calm down but had I not done that, I'd have had a major flip out. It was a lot of fun! I got to meet a lot of Nat's friends from "other venues of life" (you know, the ones that don't involve the internet) and we had some funny conversations. Amy and I wound up poking through a purse on the bed because we loved the purse so damn much and wanted to know who owned it so we could ask her where she got it. Luckily, it was owned by Nat's friend Erin who can totally sit by us and laughed that we'd rummaged through her purse so we could ask her about it. We later had talks about how I'm responsible for all misery in the world, that divorce is my fault (it's okay, I've accepted it), and why taking photos of your sister's ass crack is weird. We also talked about beating people to death with vibrators. Yeah, that's where the conversation goes when I'm in town, kids.
I bought another pair of strappy heels this weekend. To be fair, I'm not counting them in my 101 in 1001 because they're identical to the first pair I bought, just a different colour. I figure if they're exactly the same, that shouldn't really count. They're not very high, which is good cos I'm still in training to be a girlie girl (Amy's my mentor on the shoe tip), but they do have some heel on them and they buckle and are strappy and make me feel girlie. I wore them with jeans, which is just weird to me, but a good weird. And Nat's friend Pete gave me a huge compliment without even realising it, I think. I was sitting on Nat's bed with my feet hanging off (so as not to put my shoes on her bed--duh!) and he was standing right by my feet and said, "You know, I'm not a dude that notices shoes or cares about them or whatever, but those are some really cool shoes!" Good on ya, Pete! Thanks! Now stop sticking things in your sister's ass crack! And for those of you who asked, I also posted it on the moblog photo but the maker is Hillard & Hanson and I bought them at Mervyn's at Memorial City. They had a ton of them in black and burgandy on Saturday.
Have a few posts in the brew about things. We'll see how the day goes. ‹ out, damn spot!
